Hi everyone, my name is Brenda. I’m so tickled to be sharing my very first recipe with Unconditionally Her. This dish isn’t originally mine—it’s one I received from a friend—but it has become a favorite in my family. I often make it for my sister, Willene, and her two sons, Mark and Glenn, and they ask for it again and again.

It’s simple to prepare and perfect for this time of year. Since it’s fall, I like to use apple pie filling, but the truth is you can enjoy it year-round with whatever filling you love best. The ingredients may seem like an unusual combination at first, but trust me—together they create something really yummy.

It’s an easy choice if you need a quick after-church dessert, a nice treat for your family, or a sweet dish to share with friends at your next gathering. I hope you’ll give it a try, and I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thank you for welcoming me—I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Creamy Dutch Apple Dessert

1/4c butter
1.5c graham cracker crumbs
1 – 14oz can sweetened condensed milk
8oz sour cream
1/4c lemon juice
1 can apple pie filling
1/4c chopped walnuts
1/2tsp ground cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350. Place 1/4c butter in a 1.5qt glass baking dish and melt in the oven.

Sprinkle in graham cracker crumbs and stir well. Press crumbs into bottom of dish, forming a crust. In a medium bowl, mix together sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, and lemon juice.

Spread evenly over crumb crust. Spoon pie filling over creamy layer and bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes or until set. Cool slightly.

Mix walnuts and cinnamon together and sprinkle over pie filling. Dessert may be served warm or cold.

Refrigerate leftovers.
