Unconditionally Her made its way to LA as Nashville reunited with Calgary, Canada, to experience the 2024 Silicon Beach Film Festival at the iconic Hollywood Chinese Theater. After check-in, Kiya and I hit Hollywood Boulevard, where the sights were larger than life. From the famed Walk of Fame to the legendary Dolby Theater, Hollywood was buzzing with that unmistakable energy that makes it, well, Hollywood.
Our evening took a magical turn with a tour of the legendary Village Studios, followed by a standing-room-only concert by the incredible Grammy-winner Carla Patullo. It was pure musical magic.
As midnight approached, we were starving after a long day, so I introduced Kiya to Wahlburgers—a perfect late-night fix! The next morning came far too quickly. We found ourselves back at the Chinese Theater, where producers and actors buzzed with excitement. Our film, My First Breath, played in all its glory on the big screen. And guess who joined us on the red carpet? Carla Patullo herself. Thank you, Carla!

No trip to LA with our favorite Japanese gal-pal would be complete without a stop at Dodger Stadium to catch none other than Shohei Ohtani in action. Kiya was over the moon, and even though the Dodgers lost, nothing could dampen her excitement as she FaceTimed her family back home to join in the moment. Ah, the magic of technology.

The following day was a well-deserved break, so we headed to the beach to show this Canadian girl the beauty of the American West Coast. Santa Monica was our destination—yep, the end of Route 66. Our first stop? The famous Santa Monica Pier and Palisades Park. With stunning beach views, delicious table-side food, and an ice cream cone on the pier, it was a sun-soaked dream. Next, we strolled down Montana Avenue, where we met up with friends and enjoyed iced coffee at a local favorite, La La Land, where each cup supports foster youth and individuals in need. A meaningful pause amid our LA adventures.

And that’s a wrap, folks! Thanks for the unforgettable memories, LA. Until next time… Cheers!
