February – the month of love! We made it through January and are finally venturing into the month of love and everything hearts. February is like a pink and red, cozy quilt pieced together with colorful patches of celebration, love, and a touch of whimsy. As winter holds on tightly with its last icy grip, we find warmth in Valentine’s Day’s red and pink hues, the festive chaos of Mardi Gras, and the promise of spring just around the corner. Let’s dive into the shortest month of the year, where every day is an opportunity to embrace the unexpected, find a little magic in the ordinary, and find opportunities to encourage, inspire, and empower ourselves and others.

Most think about Valentine’s Day with the mention of February. We also get to find out if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow and predicts six more weeks of winter on February 2nd, watch the biggest game in American football on Super Bowl Sunday, February 9th, and participate in Random Acts of Kindness Day on February 17th.   We also recognize Black History Month, a month-long celebration of and recognition of the contributions of African Americans throughout history.   What a great month!

Unconditionally Her is here for you this month.    Recipes include a festive and fun Valentine’s Sugar Cookie Martini for her and a Vanilla Old Fashioned for him.   What would February be without chocolate? The fabulous Sandy Williams shares her mouth-watering Chocolate Chip Banana Bread she made with Caroline.   The power of friendship is celebrated through Galentine’s Day. We have several great features, including a Galentine tea feature as part of our new Tea and Tidbits column, and we want to explain why girls’ trips are so important.   We have Book Club with Becky Reid, and a great Mardi Gras article from New Orleans native Cindy Small. We’ll celebrate Unconditionally Her founder and CEO Karen Shayne’s Alice Award (don’t know what that is? Tune in and find out! She is so deserving!). On social, we’ll showcase behind the scenes to the soon-to-be-released So She Howls movie and so much more. Please join us for all these amazing features during the month of love.

I will close with the quote that always comes to mind this month by poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning, “Love doesn’t make the world go round; love is what makes the ride worthwhile.”   May you enjoy your February and thank you for allowing Unconditionally Her to be part of the ride!

Be Encouraged, Be Empowered, Be Inspired – Be Unconditionally YOU!
