Ever heard of Fruits and Veggies – More MattersFruits and Veggies – More Matters is a national call to help Americans increase their fruit and vegetable consumption for better health.  It’s been around since 2007 so it may be something you have heard about, but if not, it’s worth learning more and visiting the website to see what this awesome initiative is all about.  September marks Fruits and Veggies – More Matters Month and it’s great to see that this great initiative is still around 10 years after it launched.

Researchers say that 90% of Americans – this includes both adults and children – do not get the recommended daily amount of fruits or vegetables.     We can do better than this! If you only take away two things, take away this:  Fill your plate with fruit and veggies every time you have a meal or snack AND all forms count including juices, frozen, canned, dried, etc.   You CAN do it!

Find out some sneaky ways to incorporate more fruits and veggies into your daily diet, get some great new recipes, learn how to properly store fruits and vegetables, and take a look at the fruit and vegetable database to look up nutrients and information on every fruit and vegetable imaginable. It is easy to spend hours on the website with all of the great tools, resources, and information.

As we gear up for the change in seasons, take advantage of this wonderful resource provided by the Produce for Better Health Foundation and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  What a great time to make some changes, learn new strategies and tips,  and continue your quest towards better health – while it doing it tastefully!
