Among other things, May is a time to celebrate women’s health. National Women’s Health Week is observed every year during the month of May and is organized by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office on Women’s Health. The goal of the observance is to empower women to make their health a priority, and throughout the week, women are encouraged to take steps to improve their health. This year marks the 19th annual National Women’s Health Week and it launches on Mother’s Day, May 13, and is celebrated throughout the week ahead.
Visit the National Women’s Health Week website for a checklist of steps to take for better health. There is a great “Choose Your Decade” resource that gives specific recommendations based on your age, as well as a fun quiz to test your knowledge on healthy living.
