This past week, we celebrated National Cancer Survivors Day. In honor of all courageous cancer survivors from around the globe, Unconditionally Her is showcasing some amazing stories from the original Survivor Stories from the Stage theater shows by making their stage show performances a podcast.
Today’s podcast features an amazing woman you have come to know over the years through SURVIVORville and the Women Survivors Alliance.
After losing her mother to ovarian cancer in 2009, this Houston, Texas powerhouse, Runzi Sen, was inspired by her mother’s strength and passion enough to leave her corporate career and found The Ovarcome FOundation, a non-profit organization. This non-profit was created specifically to raise global awareness, to fund research in search of a cure, and to provide financial, psycho-social and information to women fighting ovarian cancer. Under the leadership of this remarkable human, over the past 18 years, Ovarcome has experienced significant growth both nationally and internationally. With a MBA from Rice University in 2004 she also holds a master’s degree in Economics. She serves as an Advisory Board member of the Blanton-Davis ovarian cancer research program at MD Anderson and on the Alumni Board of Rice Business. Above all, she’s the daughter of every mother’s dream.
