Welcome to Unconditionally Her and to the month of September. School is back in session for most, and the summer vibe is in the rearview mirror despite some of us still feeling the summer-like temperatures outside.

The last two Labor Day weekends I was in Bar Harbor Maine which was a great way to end the summer. While in Maine, I stood next to the largest hydrangea shrubs – my favorite flower – that I had ever seen and vowed to come back and grow my own. And I did! Granted, they are not even remotely as tall as the ones I saw in Maine, but two years later they are still out there and for the first time, finally have bloomed. Entering into September, the blooms are still hanging in there and for how long, who knows?!? I am going to enjoy it while it lasts and while I am not in Maine this year, these flowering beauties will always remind me of the enjoyment I had on that trip, closing the chapter on summer and welcoming the cooler days ahead.
What are WE doing at Unconditionally Her to put summer behind and focus on venturing further into a soon-to-be cooler season? As always, food is ALWAYS in season. This month we will have Michelle’s Marina, one of Karen’s favorite recipes, Finnish Pancakes courtesy of contributor Sandy Williams, Brisket Tacos from contributor Daniel Bradley, and more. A Fig Martini is part of Cocktail Hour as we can’t forget the beverages! For travel and adventure, Sandy and Karen traveled to Waco and Ft. Worth Texas, while Karen and Kiya went to Hollywood California. Each will be shared as part of Destination Diaries so those of you with the travel bug may get ideas for future adventures. I am authoring an article this month that shares some pretty important women’s health information along with a chronicling of my own personal experience with a scary and unexpected mammogram result (spoiler alert: it DID have a happy ending!). In addition, we’ll have Book Club a surprise feature article that you won’t want to miss, and MORE!
Come and help us welcome the month of September and enjoy Unconditionally You as you put summer in the rearview mirror.
Be Encouraged, Be Empowered, Be Inspired – Be Unconditionally YOU!
