“I’m gonna soak up the sun, while it’s still free, I’m gonna soak up the sun, before it goes out on me.” — Sheryl Crowe, Legendary Singer-Songwriter and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee

BOOM, here we are – the month of June and almost halfway through the year! Welcome to Unconditionally Her as we kick off summer and the month of June.   June is a mood, a melody, a memory waiting to be made. It’s fireflies twinkling like porchlight confetti, the scent of what’s cooking on the backyard grill dancing through the air, and the unmistakable hum of crickets serenading us in the evenings. It’s a time to slow down, sip something sweet, and savor life’s simple joys.  We’ve even got the summer solstice – the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere – on June 21st.  What’s not to love, right!?!

This month, we’re serving up summer with adventurous road trips, recipes that taste like home from Karen and Sandy including Chocolate Pie, Street Corn Nachos, AND a great new Book Club feature with Becky, best enjoyed with a tall glass of iced tea or lemonade. We’re celebrating the men who make a difference in honor of Father’s Day and have some great special features on tap, too.  Look for a peek at the “new” midlife crisis and navigating “parenting a parent” from our founder and reader favorite Karen Shayne. I’ll be serving up another dose of gratitude with our “Dose of Gratitude” column, and there is sooo much more.

Here are a few June trivia questions to kick off the month with a few fun facts. Answers to each question will be at the bottom – no peeking!
