Just in time for the weekend.  This lovely, warming cocktail proves egg nog isn’t just for the holidays.  Let’s warm up by the fire and enjoy!    The best thing about this recipe?  If you aren’t a whiskey fan, you can substitute rum or really good bourbon.


Whiskey Egg Nog


10 eggs, slightly beaten

1/2 gallon whole milk

2/3 cup sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 pint whipping cream (whipped

1 cup whiskey


Combine eggs, milk, sugar and salt in large saucepan.  Cook over medium-low heat, stirring consistently until mixture thickens and coats a metal spoon, about 20 minutes.  Stir in vanilla.  Refrigerate covered for several hours or overnight.  Just before serving, fold in the whipped cream and stir in liquor.  Pour into glasses and top with nutmeg or cinnamon.


Garnish with a cinnamon stick and ENJOY!
