Welcome to Unconditionally Her! October is here, and with it comes one of my favorite reminders that change is upon us! The leaves transform before our eyes, the air shifts toward crispness, and the rhythms of our days begin to feel different too. Fall is nature’s way of showing us that change, though sometimes hard, can be incredibly beautiful.

As a health and wellness coach, I often remind myself, and the ladies that I work with, that change isn’t just about the seasons outside our window. It’s about the small, intentional choices we make that can bring more balance, health, and joy into our lives. Whether it’s finally committing to better rest, trying a new practice like breathwork, or even daring to take that long-dreamed-of solo trip, October invites us to embrace change.

And of course, I can’t talk about fall without mentioning my ever-changing seasonal mailbox décor! If you follow along, you know my mailbox gets dressed up just like the rest of the house this time of year.  It is usually a mix of pumpkins, mums, and all things autumn. It’s a lighthearted reminder that even small changes in our surroundings can bring us joy.

This month’s issue is full of inspiration to do just that. In my A Time to Bloom series, I’ll share thoughts on “Falling into Better Sleep,” and later in the month, we’ll talk LEAVES.  What is the science behind the color change? With a budding meteorologist in the house – my son just graduated from college in May – I have access to a “real” scientist and am learning all sorts of fun things. I’ll share a few tidbits about change in our own lives, too.  You’ll also find Kiya’s thoughtful piece on breathwork and an article on psychosomatic disorders that explores the powerful mind-body connection.   Get ready for these great articles that inspire positive health, well-being, and personal change.

Of course, change can also taste delicious! Brenda’s Creamy Apple Dutch Pie and Karen’s Caramel Cake are just the beginning. We’ve got playful recipes like Mummy Hotdogs, game-day favorites like Baked Beans, and seasonal delights including Boozy Maple Pecan Brie and a Halloween Spicy Apple Cider Margarita.

And because change often comes with courage and resilience, we’re honored to share a powerful Breast Cancer Survivor Story this month. Becky brings us back to Book Club with Bees in June, and you’ll even find inspiration in fashion, faith, and the rise of solo adventures as the ultimate form of self-care.

So as the leaves turn, may we be reminded that change is not something to fear but something to embrace. October is the perfect time to ask yourself: What change do I want to create in my own life?
