Have you ever wondered how and why the custom of putting a tree in the living room and adorning it with festive ornaments became to be?   We have!  We decided to do a little research and discovered that this custom actually goes back a long, long time – as in THOUSANDS of years.   The evergreen fir was actually used for both Christian and Pagan winter solstice celebrations and for decorating in the home.  No one really knows when firs were actually first used as Christmas trees, but we did learn a lot of cool and interesting facts while doing our research.

Did you know that the top Christmas Tree producing states are Oregon, North Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Washington?  Take a look at some of the interesting links below and see what we discovered while on the quest to find out the “how’s” and “why’s” of the custom of Christmas trees.
